UN chief invited to announce his work already in Durban.
On Tuesday, at a meeting of Parties to the UN Climate Change Conference in Durban, South Africa, the General Secretary of the United Nations.
Addressing the participants of the meeting, he said that few expect from Durban breakthrough or even success. But this does not mean that it should not lead to real progress.
The UN chief said that the meeting should address four specific objectives, including the problem of long-term funding for climate protection.
"With regard to long-term funding, we need 2020 to forward this purpose 100 million. They must come from governments, private sectors and innovative sources. Established my group of advisers on Financing for climate protection measures has demonstrated that it is really. now important to keep that promise, "- said Mr. Ban.
At last year's climate conference in Cancun, Parties to the Convention decided to establish for this purpose Green Fund.
