Volcano Kizimen threw ash to a height of 6.5 km


4.03.11.Seriya emissions of ash from the volcano in Kamchatka Kizimen fixed. Their height ranges from 4.5 km to 6.5 km above sea level, reported today by RBC in the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Service RAS.

During the day, the volcano was 137 earthquakes. The strongest of them were accompanied by ash plumes and coming off the slopes of debris avalanches of volcanic rock. A cloud of ash ejected giant, rose to a height of 5 km and moved about 100 km north-west of it.

For settlements Kizimen not dangerous, but the volcanic dust from its eruptions can affect engine aircraft flying in areas where the ash plumes. Giant assigned "orange" air code that warns of all role services, reported the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian.

Kizimen height of 2.5 km is located 265 km north of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskogo.Poslednee eruption was observed in 1928-1929. Since then, the giant "sleeping" until 2009. Data on other eruptions of the volcano, scientists do not have.

Since the summer of last year, near the beginning of Kizimov recorded seismic activity. Intense bursts of activity of the volcano ash emissions from the crater were recorded on 13 and 28 December 2010 goda.1 January this year, the ash from the volcano fell in the east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and the district center Yelizovo.
