5.4 earthquake off the coast of Fiji

MOSCOW, Feb. 24 — RIA Novosti. Earthquake of magnitude 5.4 occurred on Thursday off the coast of Fiji — the island nation in the Pacific Ocean, according to the U.S. Geological Survey website.

According to the service, the tremors have been recorded in the 6.34 am local time (21.34 MSK).

The epicenter of earthquake was located at 335 kilometers east of the capital, Suva Fiji's largest island of Viti Levu.

Given the great depth of the earthquake — about 618 kilometers under the sea, there is no danger of a tsunami.
