In Romania, there was an explosion in a coal mine


06.02.2011. In Romania, in an explosion at a coal mine killed five people, the Associated Press reports quoting a representative of the state mining company Oanu Stoykutu.

The blast occurred in a mine in the coal mining area of Valea Zhiuli in western Romania, at 14:30 local time (15:30 MSK) at a depth of 400 m to the company, there were four underground electrician and engineer, repairs. Shortly after the completion of them received a report about smoke in air navigation. Arrived on the scene rescuers found that all the experts are dead.

Total coal mine employs about 800 miners.

Recall that in November 2008. in the south-west of Romania as a result of two gas explosions at a coal mine, located in the valley r.Zhiu, killing 11 people — eight miners and three members of the rescue services. Another eight miners received burns of varying severity and were hospitalized. As stated by the then Prime Minister of Romania, Calin Popescu-Tariceanu, the incident occurred as a result of methane gas explosions at a depth of 250 m
