Torrential rains caused floods in southern Spain


MOSCOW, May 19 — RIA Novosti. Heavy rains that began on Wednesday in the province of Andalusia in southern Spain, led to flooding in a number of cities, killed an elderly woman, reported Thursday by the Associated Press, citing local media.

According to the National Spanish TV channels, the most affected by the disaster was the area around the city of Cordoba. Flood waters destroyed homes and carried cars through the streets. Residents of more than 150 homes have been evacuated.

It was learned that rescue workers found the body of 85-year old woman.
