First party anti-aircraft missile systems (AAMS) «Tor-M1-2U» entered service in the military forces of the Southern Area (JUVO), said on Tuesday the deputy head of the press service of the Southern Military District Colonel Oleg Kochetkov.
«First party AAMS» Tor-M1-2U » entered the military forces of the Southern neighborhood. Until the end of the year these AAMS will be staffed defense unit stationed in the Volgograd region, «- said Kochetkov.
According to him, the new AAMS «Tor-M1-2U» entered service in the state defense order. The system will change the standing armed with anti-aircraft missiles short range «Wasp», «Thor» and «Tor-M1».
AAMS «Tor-M1-2U» created to destroy aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aircraft aerodynamic, guided missiles and other parts of precision instruments, soaring on the medium, small and maximally low altitudes. The system is capable of hitting four goals at once at an altitude of 10 km. Her crew consists of three people.
