Every second Bulgarian subject to any superstition — such data are the sociological agency "Gallup International" of the study, said "Blagovest-info" with a link to a site "Religion BG".
Marcela Abrasheva, a sociologist and executive director of the agency, said that the survey involved 1,000 people over the age of 15 years. The survey was conducted in February and March of this year.
More than 50% of respondents admitted that they are more or less superstitious. About half of the respondents admit the existence of telepathy and trust predictions. Some 60% believe in the evil eye as the cause of worldly troubles. These kinds of superstitions, like tarot cards, horoscopes, passion, fear of black cats and fatal of 13, are also widespread.
And contrary to popular belief, superstition, are more susceptible to young people aged 30-35 years, not elderly or poorly educated.
