Climate affects citrus production in Brazil


16.11.11.V 2011 climate change is strongly influenced by the state of citrus orchards in the northwest of the state of Sao Paulo.

According to the newspaper «Gazeta do Povo», during the harvest season in the gardens of the region was no more activity. Some gardeners and does have the complete loss of crops due to severe drought, which has fallen on some areas of the state at the beginning of this year.

Significant increase in temperature in the summer led to the flowers on the trees simply burned and never bloomed. That is what caused the negative forecasts for citrus crop in the region in 2011/2012 year.
