In Armenia, the virus killed the black swans

YEREVAN, June 13 — RIA Novosti. The cause of death of black swans in the reserve Parz (translated from Armenian — "Clear Lake") near the resort town of Dilijan, Armenia became a viral infection of unknown type, said the agency "Novosti-Armenia", with reference to the press service of Yerevan Zoo.

Yerevan Zoo in late May passed a pair of black swans to rent Ltd. "Opel", the operating organization of the reserve, as the environmental conditions on Lake Parz favorable habitat for this species. According to the zoo, the transaction was carried out according to a written contract, as required by the statute of Yerevan Zoo.

"But soon the swans died. A study in the national epidemiological and veterinary diagnostic center study showed that they were infected with a viral infection, "- said in a statement.

The new management of Yerevan Zoo, which recently became a director Ruben Khachatryan, has decided to stop sending to rent rare and highly sensitive species.
