In the U.S., dozens of dolphins committed mass suicide

18.01.12.Bolee 60 dolphins stranded on the beaches of the Atlantic coast of the U.S. state of Massachusetts in the last few days. This was reported in the local media on Tuesday.

According to the International Fund for Animal Welfare, only 19 managed to save the dolphins. Foundation staff have to help, and then released back into the ocean, providing special Identification tags.

Currently, about 300 rescue workers and volunteers continue to keep watch on the beaches of Cape Cod to see if the animals again stranded, have to help, according to ITAR-TASS.

This is not the first time the mass death of dolphins in the Cape Cape Cod. Such cases occur in other countries. Thus, in early January, a similar case was reported in New Zealand.

Scientists can not yet give a precise answer to the question of what causes make dolphins and other marine mammals to commit collective suicide.
