At the beginning of XXI century, the University "Dubna" based on the technology of the inventor in the field of electrical and radio engineering, engineer and physicist Nikola Tesla, who in the XIX century, proposed a method of active power transfer using resonant properties of a single line made of a metallic conductor, the first in the world combined power transmission line and information. The line is based on a standard fiber optic cable laid between the pillars.

The second line of continuous Wi-Fi zone along the embankment of the Volga (the school number 9 to the pool "Archimedes") with a length of 1250 m was put into operation in the spring of this year (in test mode started to work in August 2012). This line extends a single information-educational environment of the city, created by the University "Dubna" in 2004.

It also implemented a system of single-wire transmission of electrical energy by supporting cables fiber optic cable connection. Wireless access points operating in the standard 82.11g, provided with food and transport data at high speed through a standard fiber optic cable. Antennas point of the line of lighting poles in the side of the Volga, which provides Wi-Fi coverage throughout the waterfront recreational areas. Internet access for students and teachers of the University "Dubna" is possible with the existing password, and anyone can register with the system by connecting to the site on-line (SSID wireless access systems «iNET»). The advantages of a single-wire transmission lines are clear: is the transmission of electrical energy over long distances without the use of transformer substations, the lack of a line of non-ferrous metals, reduced capital costs for construction of transmission lines by 40 percent, a significant reduction of losses in electricity transmission, reducing the number of accidents on the line associated with the weather events, the fundamental lack of short circuits in the wires, increasing electrical parameters during operation.
