BANGKOK, Feb. 14 — RIA Novosti, Yevgeny Belenky. Two F-16 Air Force Thailand crashed during training at the annual joint exercises, the U.S. military and the South-East Asian Cobra Gold, said on Monday the newspaper Bangkok Post website with reference to the Air Force leadership of the country.
According to preliminary reports, the two men managed to eject, the newspaper said.
Both aircraft fell in the same area of the north-eastern province of Thailand Chaiyaphum, which is located between the province of Nakhon Ratchasima, where the base of Air Force Thailand Pakchong and exercise area in the north of Thailand.
According to the newspaper, on the site of a plane crash, there was no residential buildings, as the aircraft fell on an empty part of the forest between two villages separated by a distance of over 10 kilometers.
The plane took off from a base in the flight of four F-16 fighters and disappeared from radar at 10.20 local time (06.20 MSK), told the Chief Marshal of Thailand Ittiphon Supphavong.
According to the online version of the newspaper Nation, the collapse was the result of a collision between two planes in the air during the execution of a group flight exercises.
Marshal Supphavong also reported Bangkok Post, that both pilots managed to eject, they are alive and in a plane crash. Thai Air Force sent a helicopter crash in the area and ground equipment to search for pilots and fighter aircraft crashed.
Cobra Gold teachings involving units of the armed forces of the United States, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia and South Korea are in the north of Thailand in the Second and Third Military Districts.
Largest annual American International exercises outside the U.S. — Cobra Gold — always held in Thailand. This year's training celebrate anniversary — they go for the thirtieth time. Prior to the 2000 exercise was held with the participation of the United States and Thailand, and then were connected to them and others in the region — first as an observer and as full participants in the exercise.

Aviation component of the exercise are the Air Force planes and crews in Thailand and Singapore, as well as aircraft and crews of the U.S. Marine Corps.
According to the official website of the Air Force, in service in Thailand is 60 aircraft of three F-16 variants.
