The landslide tore Ecuadorian oil pipeline

April 8, 2013. As a result of an accident on an oil pipeline in the Ecuadorian province of Esmeraldas spilled crude oil volume of 500 to 5,000 barrels, according to ITAR-TASS.

Pipeline deliver hydrocarbons from the oil fields in the province of Amazonas to the sea terminal of Oleoducto de Crudos Pesados Ecuador on the Pacific Ocean. Accident was due to the landslide. Five-kilometer stretch of highway that connects Esmeraldas with the rest of the country was flooded with oil.

According to estimates of the industry, this incident will not lead to interruptions in the supply of Ecuadorian oil.
