Russia entered the natural increase of population

In the first nine months of 2012 for the first time in many years, Russia has entered the natural increase of population, when the death rate exceeded the birth rate, the Minister of Labour and Social Development Maxim Topilin during the Government Hour in the State Duma on Wednesday, November 21. 


According to the Minister of Social Development, as a result of the measures taken to stimulate fertility and mortality reduction "almost on a balance of births and deaths."

"We have an unprecedented figure for the results of the past four months: develops the natural increase of the population, that is, in fact we have a surplus of births over deaths," — he said.

Topilin stressed that the chance of achieving the natural growth of the population in Russia is and on the results of 2012. He also added that the policy of stimulating the birth rate will be conducted by the government in 2013. In particular, the ministry plans to encourage the birth of the third child in the family, providing financial support to the families.
