Russia in 2011 will increase steel production by 4.7%

Crude steel production in Russia in 2011 is expected within 67 million tons, which is 4.7% higher than in 2010, RIA Novosti reported.

The materials of the Industry and Trade Ministry said. that in 2011 the production of iron ore concentrate is expected to reach 102.8 million tons (up 3.3%), metallurgical coke — 30.8 million tons (up 3.7%), pig iron — 49.5 million tons (growth 4.2%), rolled ferrous metals — 57.5 million tons (up 4.5%), steel pipes — 8.8 million tons (up 7.3%).

In 2011, aluminum production is projected to increase by 1.5%, copper — by 2.2%, nickel — by 1.16% compared to 2010. In 2010, production of iron ore concentrate was 99.5 million tons (up 8.2%), metallurgical coke — 29.7 million tons (up 8.4%), pig iron — 47.5 million tons (an increase of 8 2%), steel — 64 million tons (up 8.1%), rolled ferrous metals — 55 million tonnes (8.3%), steel pipes — 8.2 million tons (an increase of 23.2% ).

In the past year, increased the production of aluminum — 1.5%, copper — 5%, nickel — by 0.6%. Exports of finished rolled steel in 2010 was 30 million tons (up 6.8%), in 2011, it could reach 30.5 million tons (up 1.7%).
