Rosoboronexport signed the first export contract to supply Ka-52 helicopters to Iraq, told RIA Novosti on Monday opened at Le Bourget exhibition source in the Russian delegation.

 

The head of Rosoboronexport delegation at the show in Le Bourget, Alexander Mikheyev at a press conference, said that the first contract for the Ka-52 signed, but did not specify the amount and the country.

"The contract was signed with Iraq in the framework of the agreement of 2012," — said the source. In 2012, the contract was signed between Russia and Iraq for the purchase of arms and military equipment worth $ 4.3 billion.

He stressed that in fact this is the first contract within a large agreement between the two countries on the acquisition of this Arab country of arms and military equipment from Russia.

"So we can assume that the agreement on more than $ 4 billion comes into force," — said the source.
