RUSSIAN DEFENSE bought CZECH AIRCRAFT

The Russian Defense Ministry has concluded with the Czech aircraft manufacturer Aircraft Industries (operates under the brand LET Kunovice) contract for the supply of
4 L-410 aircraft. On this, as reported by «Interfax», said Andrei Kozitsin, General Director of Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company, which controls 51 percent of the LET.
 
According Kozitsyna acquired military agency aircraft will be delivered in 2013. With all this agreement contains an option to purchase 4 more aircraft L-410. In what specific configuration will be delivered by aircraft of the Defence Ministry, Kozitsin did not elaborate. According of the International Institute for Strategic research, the Russian Air Force flights are already doing 7 L-410.
 
Earlier edition of «Rise» reported that the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation in February-April 2011, received four aircraft L-410UVP-E20, and at the end of December 2011 signed an agreement for the supply of 3 more of these aircraft for a total amount of 450 million rubles to be delivered until the end of November 2012 year.
 
Last three aircraft were purchased, possibly on the basis of open tender in November 2011. Except the military aircraft should also be put ground equipment maintenance and spare parts. According to the description of the tender, the new aircraft is planned to be attributed to the military unit 42829 Schyolkovo 10.
 
First flight of L-410 took place in 1970. The aircraft is capable of speeds up to 457 km per hour to fly a distance of 546 km. The aircraft is designed to carry up to 19 passengers or cargo weighing up to 1.7 tons. UVP-E20 version differs from the basal L-410 five-blade propellers, stronger engines and the ability to perform short take-off and landing.
 
L-410UVP-E20 is available in 2-versions: the base and with «glass» cockpit. First price is about 2.4 million euros (96.5 million rubles at the exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation on November 9, 2012), and the second — 2.6 million euros.
