Statement of the world in support of the Russian federal law on the protection of children from information harmful to their health and development

The undersigned organizations have expressed serious concern about massive attacks faced by the Russian Federation in connection with its recently adopted Federal Law of June 29, 2013 N 135-FZ "On Amendments to Art. 5 of the Federal Law "On Protection of children from information harmful to their health and development …" "protecting the innocence and moral formation of children by prohibiting the promotion of these" non-traditional sexual relations. "

We affirm that the natural family created by the marriage union between a man and a woman is the foundation of every human society and is entitled to protection by society and the state, as recorded in the international standards of human rights, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Art. 16 (3)). Any initiative harmful to the family, and is destructive to society as a whole. We also confirm that children need special protection because of their innocence and lack of maturity.

We recognize that the Russian law protects the innocence of children and their parents' fundamental rights recognized by the international norms and treaties. Through its new Russian law protects original and universally recognized human rights of artificially fabrikuemyh "values" aggressively encouraged by many of today's societies. We also note that the term "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" in no universal binding international treaties and agreements.

We therefore call for respect for the sovereignty of the Russian people and invite all the organizations and people who are conscious of the responsibility for the innocence of children and their rights, the natural family and the rights of parents to speak in support of Russia, as well as Ukraine and Moldova, faced with the same pressure in connection with similar laws.
