Unknown to science for about 500 species of dinosaurs, but our knowledge about these creatures and their personal relationship to actual does not suffer. However, the number 500 can be a bit much, this figure — the maximum value. Julia Heathcote at the University of Washington believes that science knows from half to two-thirds of all existing species of dinosaurs that are relatively well.
This data is obtained by a statistical analysis of more than 250 dinosaur groups and branches of their family tree. In her work, she tried to determine what may be the ratio of available and missing data for these animals. The results surprised the researcher — it is expected that the state of the study of dinosaurs is much worse.
