All in the kindergartens in Russia in 2012 decreased by 20%, told reporters on Wednesday the head of the Ministry of Education Dmitry Livanov.

"On average in Russia in 2012, all in pre-school establishments decreased by 20%," — Livanov said after a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister for sotspolitike Olga Golodets on the problems of children.

He recalled that in every region of Russia prepares regional and municipal phased program to eliminate queues in kindergartens, adopted roadmaps.

"If we talk about a real shortage of places in kindergartens today, it is 1.3 million places", — added Golodets.

"All of these road maps include three main areas: the construction of new buildings of kindergartens, it is an extension of the network of state and municipal institutions of preschool education. He noted that in Bashkiria and Mari El targets roadmaps are not met, and in the Ulyanovsk region — exceeded.

"This is the only region which up to 2012 completely abolished the order in pre-school educational institutions, at the age of three to seven years," — concluded the head of the Ministry of Education.
