Alcatel-Lucent company, and the state corporation "Russian Technologies" signed a long-term agreement in the field of research and development, the development of services of cellular networks fourth-generation LTE, which involves organizing in Moscow, the new R & D-center, representatives of the parties at the signing ceremony.
Center, scheduled to open in late 2012, will be running the Alcatel-Lucent and will be fully integrated into the global R & D-company network. The partners expect that the center will provide jobs to hundreds of experts from both organizations.
The joint venture will be organized in conjunction with the "daughter" of "Russian Technologies" — OJSC "Roselektronika" and will become a research center based on the company "Pulsar".
The agreement was signed by the head of Alcatel-Lucent in the Middle East and the CIS Luis Martinez Amago and CEO "Roselektronika," a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation Andrei Zverev, in the framework of the Forum "Engineering Technologies 2012" held in Zhukovsky near Moscow.
"Research Center will produce the know-how for LTE", — said at the ceremony Zverev.
He added that the joint venture established on a parity basis with the investment of the first phase of $ 30-40 million. Work at the center will be 200 engineers, and is scheduled to launch in the fourth quarter of this year.
According to Zverev, Alcatel-Lucent will supply the technology produced by this joint venture into global markets, and the company will be the exclusive provider of hardware and software Alcatel-Lucent in Russia.
This is not the first experience of Alcatel-Lucent and the state corporation "Russian Technologies": in 2009 they formed a joint venture for the production and promotion in the Russian telecommunications equipment on the basis of IP.
The companies plan to consider other possible areas for co-operation in Russia.

Holding company "Russian electronics" ("Roselektronika") was founded in early 2009, based on the state of the same name of the holding. Currently, as a holding and management company consolidates potential of about 80 enterprises of electronic industry. The company specializes in the design and manufacture of electronic products, electronic materials and equipment for their production, as well as microwave technology, semiconductor devices and materials.
