Angstrom successfully completed a pilot study of new power devices

JSC "Angstrom", a leading manufacturer of microelectronic components, has successfully completed the pilot study the dynamic parameters of new power device IGBT and FRD. Testing was performed by specialists Department of Industrial Electronics, "National Research University" MEI ".

This was told by the head of the Office of Corporate Communications "Angstrom" Alex Diana. Some experts believe that the Russian market power electronics of "Angstrom" — the only company in Russia, which has conducted the development of qualified and able to organize the production of competitive crystal IGBT and FRD. This will allow the Russian manufacturer of microelectronics on a par with major global manufacturers of power components such as Infineon, STMicroelectronics, International Rectifier, Mitsubishi, Semikron, etc.

The results showed that the production of "Angstrom" is not inferior counterparts world manufacturers, but on a number of parameters exceeds them. Since power transistors designed and manufactured to "Angstrem" have the smallest rise time of the collector current and, therefore, more than one and a half times less energy dynamic losses as compared to foreign microchips. In addition, the results indicate that the power transistors "Angstrom" have almost no temperature-dependent amplitude of the residual current and voltage. Measured in the laboratory "MEI" dynamic parameters of diodes "Angstrom" outperformed their foreign counterparts in several times, and a half-bridge assembly has demonstrated steady switching to inductive load at all study modes.

Markets and applications of power electronics devices are constantly expanding, so now the world demand for IGBT and FRD crystals for power modules is continuously growing. In the market of power electronics growing Russian power, ready to use in their projects powerful modules on the basis of domestic crystals has a lot of potential for growth.

"High quality assessment of our products is very important to us. Especially when it comes to power electronics — one of the most rapidly developing and covering almost all areas of human activity on the background of a constant growth in demand for electricity, — Alexander Dovnar, General Director of JSC "Angstrom". — To provide the necessary Russian enterprises of electronic component base, we plan to make regular deliveries to foreign customers of semiconductor components that have already sent requests for our products.
