Today kicks off the 230th anniversary season of the Mariinsky tetra.
Season opens Mussorgsky’s opera "Khovanshchina."
Conducts "popular musical drama" — he Valery Gergiev, the main party in the opera performed by Sergei Aleksashkin, Vladimir Galouzine, Yevgeny Akimov, Evgeny Nikitin, Benaiah Vladimir and Olga Borodina.
The world premiere took place February 21, 1886, in the musical-drama circle in the Hall of Kononov, St. Petersburg
