At the Novocherkassk Electric Locomotive Plant (NEVZ, part of ZAO "Transmashholding") completed the production of passenger ac electric locomotive EP1M number 700, commissioned by the JSC "Russian Railways". Until the end of the plant to release 7 more locomotives of this series.
Locomotive locomotive EP1M number 700 will be assigned to the depot Rossosh South-Eastern Railway. Electric locomotive EP1M series produced by NEVZ in 2007, replacing the production of locomotives EP1. Microclimate system provides efficient heating and cooling of the cabin, creating a comfortable working environment for the locomotive crew. The design of the electric system used USAVP (Universal automatic driving electric passenger trains), allowing to drive the train for a given mode within the parameters of the track structure. The control system allows the operator if necessary, lead locomotive without an assistant.
Since the number was changed to 696 colors for electric locomotive EP1M. Subject to the requirements of the customer, JSC "Russian Railways", adopted design that matches the corporate style of the company. If the first primary color, in which locomotives were painted in the company, was blue, the now prevailing steel gray and red. Electric locomotive EP1M series work on the North Caucasus, Southeast, October, and the Trans-Baikal Railway Gorky, have proven to be a reliable technique.
In the first half of 2011 were produced 56 electric locomotive EP1M.
