Aviastar-SP has launched a first air tanker Il-78M-90A

JSC "Aviastar-SP" (Ulyanovsk) has started production of the first prototype in the tanker aircraft IL-78M-90A, said "AviaPort" an informed source in the military-industrial complex.
"Terms of Reference for the Il-78M-90A provides non-convertible version of the aircraft," — added the source.
According to him, most likely the first tanker aircraft factory will be built at the end of 2014, and its state-owned joint tests will take place in 2015, after which IL-78M-90A will be mass-produced in the framework of the state defense order.

Il-76MD-90A, on the basis of written extensively modified ramp heavy military transport aircraft Il-76MD-90A, fitted with four turbojet bypass engines PS-90A-76. The PS-90A-76 has a 14.5 ton thrust and specific fuel consumption of 0.59 kg / kg * h, meets all the standards of ICAO. Fuel consumption on a plane with the old engines of 8 t / h, with the new — 6.5 t / h (for IL-76MD-90A). Installing the PS-90A-76 can reduce fuel consumption by 12% and increase the range by 18%, reduce direct operating costs.

Installed on the aircraft digital flight control and navigation system "Dome-III-76M", which provides the solution of various problems of piloting. The cabin crew is now set eight multifunction LCD display and three intelligent remote control.

"Aviastar-SP" expects to issue up to 190 Il-76MD-90A and its modifications, and aircraft specific application created on this platform. Also, the manufacturer expects to export to China, India and several other countries. In addition to the Russian Air Force, customers can get the new aircraft the airline "Volga-Dnepr", which has delivery fleet of IL-76 in the amount of 13 units.

Serial production of the Il-76MD-90A due to start in 2014 at Ulyanovsk plant "Aviastar-SP". In the framework of the state armament program until 2020 to build a serial Il-76-MD-90A upgrade an approximately equal number of combatant Il-76MD variant in the IL-76MD-90 and is based on the Il-76MD-90A aircraft tankers.
