Baltic Fleet: 310 Years of Service Russia

The parade of the garrison troops of the Baltic devoted 310 anniversary of the formation of the oldest naval associations Russia held today at the main naval base of the Baltic Fleet (BF) — Baltiysk, the press service of the cooling zone. Fleet coastal troops stationed in the Kaliningrad region, are also getting new models of weapons and military equipment: modern tanks and combat vehicles, artillery systems and air defense, as well as miscellaneous special and automotive equipment. Thus, in early May, a team of marines coastal forces navy received the first batch of new armored personnel carriers — 30 BTR-82. These war machines feature a new weapons, high survivability, maneuverability, reliability and resource exploitation.

The plans for 2013 — Implementation of informal visits and business visits of our ships in the ports of the United Arab Emirates, Kenya, Sweden, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland. In June, the patrol ship "Yaroslav the Wise" will participate in the four-way joint exercises "FRUKUS 2013".

Currently detachment of warships of the Baltic Fleet in the TFR "Fearless," tanker "Elnya" and the sea tug "Eugene Choirs" ensures the safety of civilian shipping in the Gulf of Aden. For the patrol ship "Fearless" this campaign in the Horn of Africa is the third in a row. In 2008, for the first time in the modern history of the Russian Navy crew performed a combat mission, which was directly linked to ensuring the safety of navigation of Russian and foreign vessels.
