Belarus deploys a second battery Tor-M2

The armed forces of Belarus began deploying a second battery of the modern Russian anti-aircraft missile system "Tor-M2"

As reported by the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Defence, the first components of a second battery "Tor-M2" arrived in the republic. "Delivery is carried out in accordance with the state armaments program for 2006-2015." — Noted in the military.

The first battery "Tor-M2" came from Russia to Belarus in December last year and was put into service 120 — first anti-aircraft missile brigade of the Western operational-tactical command of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces, ITAR-TASS report of the Belarusian Defense Ministry.

"Tor-M2" provides an effective air defense military and civilian targets. The complex is capable of performing combat missions in all weather conditions. The battery of four military vehicles at the same time is able to hit 16 targets flying from any direction at a speed of up to 700 m / s at a distance of 12 km and a height of up to 10 km in all weather conditions, day and night. High effectiveness is also achieved by a completely new algorithm for interaction between machines running in a pair. They actively communicate themselves partitioned between a target. The system is fully automated, human intervention is kept to a minimum.
