Biathlon: Andrew Makoveev won the individual race, and Olga Zaitseva won the sprint

January 12 Russian biathlete Andrei Makoveev brilliantly conducted individual race at the fifth round of the World Cup in the Czech Nove Mesto. He not only ran fast, but also immaculately shot on all 4 shooting range, in contrast to its direct competitors.


January 13 at the World Cup in Nove Mesto, Czech sprint race was held for women. Olga Zaitseva won the sprint race. For Zaitseva is the fifth gold medal of the season.


Coaches whole distance, to the last shooting tried "not to frighten luck" and did not inform Makoveeva that he was leading the race. It was only after the fourth and final firing Russian biathlete reported that he is ahead of the nearest competitor for a moment.

Second place eventually took the Norwegian Emil Hegle Svendsen, missing twice and straggler from Makoveeva almost a minute. The third was the Swede Bjorn Ferry, missing only once.
