Blast furnace of a new generation of Russian woman — year of operation


August 30 marked one year since the launch of the new generation of the blast furnace, "Russia’s" production capacity of 3.4 million tons of pig iron per year.
During this period, were conducted performance tests of plant and equipment of the complex furnace chosen process conditions, which allowed the oven to reach full productivity.

During the year, operating on DC "Russian woman" smelted about 2.95 million tons of pig iron, from which produced 3.3 million tons of steel. In some periods of daily production reached 10.3 million tons of pig iron at the design capacity of 9.45 tons per day.
From the resulting by-products produced 826 thousand tons of fractionated gravel for road construction. CHP on the utilization using the new blast furnace gas furnace produced about 1.13 billion kWh of electricity for the needs of the plant.
Start a blast furnace complex "Russian woman" and the new converter allows NLMK to increase capacity for the production of steel in Lipetsk by 36%, to 12.4 million tons.
"Russian woman" — the first blast furnace was built in this country over the last 25 years, as well as the most important object of NLMK’s Technical Upgrade Program. The total investment in the project amounted to more than 43 billion rubles.
The project was implemented in cooperation with the firm Paul Wurth (Luxembourg). Construction was carried out for three years, with the participation of more than 70 construction companies. The blast furnace is used in the development of advanced Russian and foreign engineers, allowing you to name the construction of an industrial complex with one of the most successful examples of international cooperation in recent years.
In comparison with the best foreign analogues "Russian woman" provides higher levels of labor productivity, the quality of the final product with minimum fuel consumption. The whole process is built using the best available environmental and resource-saving technologies — high-aspiration systems and closed water cycle. Blast furnace gas is used as a raw material for the production of electricity by utilizing a new heating plant with capacity of 150 MW. All the dross is processed into crushed stone for road construction.
