This is the first phase of a long-term agreement "GAZ Group" and Volkswagen Group Rus on contract manufacturing of Volkswagen and Skoda at the GAZ plant in Nizhny Novgorod. Under the agreement, the GAZ will be organized full-cycle production cars Skoda Octavia and Skoda Yeti, as well as a new car Volkswagen Jetta. Total production will exceed 100,000 vehicles per year. Production at GAZ will be implemented in the contract assembly for the Volkswagen Group.
Investments in production will amount to 200 million euros, which will be used, including the modernization of the production capacity of GAZ cars and new equipment corresponding to the specific product. Production of Volkswagen and Skoda placed on the assembly line of cars GAZ, which will be used exclusively for the production of cars Volkswagen Group. In addition, the facilities of the enterprise will construct a new welding system.
The agreement is valid until 2019, however, the parties do not preclude the continuation of cooperation at the expiration of that period.
Recall that the "GAZ Group" and Volkswagen Group Rus signed an agreement for the production of Volkswagen and Skoda at the car GAZ in Nizhny Novgorod.
The signing of the agreement took place on June 14 at the head office of "GAZ Group". It provides for production at the site of Nizhny Novgorod "GAZ Group" 110,000 vehicles a year by 2015.
A total of 2013 it is planned to produce 13.2 thousand cars Skoda Yeti, 17,4 thousand — Skoda Octavia, 30,2 thousand — Volkswagen Jetta. In 2014, production reached: Skoda Yeti — 15,9 thousand cars, Skoda Octavia — 38,7 thousand, Volkswagen Jetta — 33,000 vehicles. In 2015, total production will reach 110,000 cars, of which 20,000 — Skoda Yeti, 50 — Skoda Octavia, 40 — Volkswagen Jetta.
