Company Dalur (Kurgan region). Began extracting rare earth metals concentrate

February 19 JSC "Dalur" (included in the Uranium Holding "ARMZ") launched a pilot plant for the extraction of associated bulk concentrate of rare earth metals (REM) from productive solutions derived in the production of uranium.

"The new project will allow us to significantly increase the economic efficiency of the JSC" Dalur "- said the executive director of the Uranium Holding" ARMZ "Igor Jilkin. — Without significant investment on our part of the same productive solutions we will be able to receive addition to uranium concentrate REM. "

Bulk concentrate REM Ltd "Dalur" for processing and receipt of final products (99.9% scandium oxide and aluminum-scandium alloy) will be sent to the location in the city of Lermontov (Stavropol Territory) hydrometallurgical plant of the company "Intermiks Met", which stands Business partner in the project, provides investment and pays for the extraction.

In the implementation of the project in 2012, has invested about 35 million rubles. In the years 2013-2023 the total investment should amount to 500 million rubles. Volume production is planned to increase from 24.5 tonnes of concentrate in 2013 to 134 tons in 2023. The consumers of the end product will be the enterprises of the aerospace industry in Russia, and a number of Russian and foreign industrial holdings.

"ZAO" Dalur "today is the largest payer of minerals in the Kurgan region. The further development of the production will create new jobs, pay workers a decent wage, which is important for the people of the region ", — said Yuri Vasylyuk.
"The strategy of" ARMZ "involves, in addition to the development of uranium production, diversification of business. Running concurrent production at JSC "Dalur" — an important step in this direction. This project is a first initiative of the State Corporation "Rosatom" in the upstream segment of REM is of strategic importance for the Russian nuclear industry, "- said Acting General Director of Uranium Holding "ARMZ" Tigran Khachaturov.

CJSC "Dalur" — the first company in Russia on uranium mining by underground leaching. The company is located in the district of Dalmatovskoye Kurgan region. CJSC "Dalur" leads commercial operation and development activities relating to the trans-Ural uranium ore district (Dalmatovskoye, Khokhlovskoye and Voluntary). Raw material base is estimated at 18,496 tonnes of uranium.

Used in the enterprise a method of extracting uranium by in situ leaching is in the most environmentally considerate of all known methods of mining. The most important feature of ISL mining is a closed process, not giving waste, thus avoiding changing the earth’s surface, formation of overburden dumps and tailings.

Improving the technology of extraction and processing of productive solutions, realized in cooperation with leading research institute of chemical technology, Urals State Technical University, the National Research Nuclear University "Moscow Engineering Physics Institute", and the use of modern equipment has improved a number of important industrial and environmental performance.
