The investment project for the construction of an oil pipeline Arctic — purpe implemented to transport oil from the fields in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area and northern Krasnoyarsk Territory, including Vankor, Russian refineries and export.
The project is implemented by order of the Government of the Russian Federation of 22.04.2010 № 635-r series in two stages with the development and construction of new fields. The route passes through the Yamal-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi autonomous districts of Tyumen region.
The first stage (Trunk pipeline "purpe-Samotlor" capacity of 25 million tons of oil a year length of 429 km), commissioned in 2011.
Second leg (Trunk pipeline "Arctic-purpe" capacity of 45 million tons per year, the length of 488 km) is realized in several stages from south to north:
Phase I-section from g.Tarko-Sale to pos.Purpe;

The pipeline is laid in a complex ladshafte northern Yamal-Nenets AO: route route mostly runs along the marshy areas (wetlands crossings are more than 250 km), marked areas of continuous and discontinuous permafrost, Highway 21 crosses the highway, 90 water hazards, including including such major rivers as the Pur and Taz.
