Dnevnik.ru: electronic document management in schools. Innovation in Education

In Russia, under the auspices of the priority national project "Education", a project Dnevnik.ru that can fully meet the needs of Russian schools in the transition to electronic document. 

For several years the government level, intensive work, the aim of which is to simplify the maximum functioning of state institutions. One of the intermediate results of this work was the adoption in 2002 of the federal target program "Electronic Russia" mandating the transition to electronic document. In particular, the program was considered the initiative as a paper school classroom to the electronic journal, the main advantages are automated monitoring of student achievement, the ability to provide timely information on Accumulation estimates of the subjects, and, very importantly, data protection against distortion.

In 2009 in Russia under the auspices of the priority national project "Education" project launched Dnevnik.ru that is able to satisfy the needs of Russian schools in the transition to electronic document. Dnevnik.ru — United Russia Education Network, which generates a unique electronic environment for teachers, students and their parents. Dnevnik.ru supported by plenipotentiary representatives of the President of the Russian Federation in the North-West, regional administrations, ministries, committees and departments of education.

Dnevnik.ru combines four modules:

  • distance learning,
  • Document management school,
  • social network.
  • module for the education authorities

 

 
Dnevnik.ru basic functionality is free for all participants in the educational process. Users can access an electronic grade book and student’s electronic diary, as well as Media Library, a library of educational literature, online training exam testing, the ability to pass the entrance Olympics in Russia’s largest universities.

In 2010 Dnevnik.ru was awarded "casual games" in the "Teacher’s Internet project." In April 2012 Dnevnik.ru won the World Summit Award as the winner in the category of E-Learning & Education. In August 2012 the company became a resident of the Skolkovo Innovation Fund. In 2012 Dnevnik.ru immediately gets two awards: the "Golden Site" in the "social projects at the federal level" and the award of SaaS-solutions "Cloud 2012" in the nomination "The Cloud for the state."

The project is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, regional departments and the Board of Education. Headquartered Dnevnik.ru is located in St. Petersburg, the company has offices in Moscow, Kiev, Bashkortostan, Volgograd, Astrakhan, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk areas in the Khabarovsk Krai and Dagestan.

Today we can talk about the first positive results of the implementation Dnevnik.ru in a number of regions of the Russian Federation. The progress of the implementation of the Unified Education Network Dnevnik.ru closely monitoring specialists in the management bodies of education, helping to develop the necessary and sufficient basis of regulations governing the transition of any educational institution in the management of electronic document circulation. Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev, speaking about educational standards and technologies, noted that "in today’s world, computer literacy should be seen not as an innovation, and as a prerequisite to the construction of the educational process."
