EBRD Ukraine gave money to build a biogas plant

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has allocated 4.2 million euros EKOPROD private company for the construction of a biogas plant with a capacity of 1.5 MW in the Donetsk region.

The plant will produce 5.8 million cubic meters of biogas per year, of which it will be possible to develop 9,900 MW of electricity. The company will be one of the first biogas plants in the country, which is released in the electricity power market.

The project is part of the program funding alternative energy (USELF) — the investment program in the amount of EUR 70 million (of which € 50 million EBRD allocates 20 million — the Clean Technology Fund), the purpose of which is to provide funding to private Ukrainian enterprises wishing to invest in renewable energy projects in Ukraine.

The financing package will include a 7-year loan from the EBRD in the amount of 3.1 million euro and 15-year-old CTF loan in the amount of 1.1 million euros

According to the CEO EKOPROD Ivan Miller, completion is planned Dec. 31, 2014.
