Ekaterinburg wage level rose by one notch to European capitals

Today Yekaterinburg consistently holds a leading place in the rankings of the leading analytical agencies of Russia and the world. The pace of socio-economic development of the Ural capital increase from year to year, the negative dynamics they did not show more than a decade.

According to the vice-mayor of Strategic Planning, Economic Affairs and Finance Alexander Vysokinsky, the main competitive advantage of Yekaterinburg in comparison with other cities of over one million people is the presence of a balanced development of the Strategic Plan of the complex covering all areas of urban development. Clear strategy for urban development can not jerks, gradually move towards the goal of creating comfortable for the population and economic development of municipalities.

Perhaps the most striking index of the socio-economic development of the city are the highest average wages and low unemployment. Today, these values are in Yekaterinburg — one of the best among the largest cities in Russia.

Thus, the average level of wages in the first quarter slumped to the mark of 34,000 rubles, which is almost 30 percent more than the value of the Sverdlovsk region. At the same purchasing power of the urban population in a short historical period of implementation of the Strategic Plan focus areas very close to the inhabitants of European cities like Prague, Budapest, Warsaw.

According to Alexander Vysokinsky, special attention is paid to improving salaries of public sector employees. So, in October 2012 salaries of state employees has been increased by 6 percent. In this year’s budget provides another increase. On October 1, the main staff working in public organizations, will raise salaries by 15 percent, other personnel — by 5.5 percent. For employees of preschools will bring the level of the average wage to almost 24 thousand rubles per month, which corresponds to its average value in all educational institutions.

Directly related to the level of performance is the average wage rate of unemployment. In 2009, it amounted to about 2.15 percent, today it is reduced by more than four times, and does not exceed 0.5 percent. The number of jobs offered in the labor market in times greater than the number of unemployed. On the record decline in the unemployment rate is influenced by such factors as the successful development of small and medium businesses in the capital of the Urals, the high purchasing power of the urban population and preparation for international events of the highest level.
