Rosstat summed up the sample survey on employment as of the second week of November 2012.
The economically active population aged 15-72 years (employed + unemployed) in November 2012. amounted to 75.5 million people, or more than 53% of the total population of the country.
In the economically active population of 71.5 million people were classified as engaged in economic activity and 4.1 million people — as unemployed using the ILO criteria (ie, had no job or gainful employment, looking for work and were ready to start surveyed in week).
The unemployment rate (the ratio of the unemployed to the economically active population) in November 2012. 5.4% (without exception seasonality).
Employment rate (the ratio of the employed population to the total population of the subject of age) in November 2012. amounted to 64.5%.
Compared with October 2012. number of people employed in November fell by 44 thousand, or 0.1%, the number of unemployed has increased by 62 thousand, or 1.5%. Compared with November 2011. number of people employed increased by 487 thousand, or 0.7%, the number of unemployed fell by 681 thousand, or 14.3%.
The total number of unemployed, classified according to the criteria of the ILO, 4 times higher than the number of unemployed registered at public employment services. In late November 2012. in public employment services were registered as unemployed in 1017 thousand people, which is 3.1% more than in October 2012.
As the materials survey on employment in November 2012., 72% of the unemployed were looking for work independently without the assistance of Employment Services (in November 2011. — 68%). In this case, men are less likely appealed to the Employment Service in search of work than women. Among the unemployed, the proportion of men seeking work with the employment services in November 2012. amounted to 24.2% of the unemployed women — 33.3%. Unemployment urban and rural population is characterized by excess levels of unemployment among rural residents compared with the level of unemployment among the urban population. In November 2012. this excess was 1.9 times.
The age structure of the unemployed. The average age of the unemployed in November 2012. was 34.4 years. Young people under 25 years of age is 28.2% of the unemployed, including those in the 15-19 age group — 5.9%, 20-24 years — 22.3%. The high level of unemployment was recorded in the age group 15-19 years (32.5%) and 20-24 years (12.3%). Compared with November 2011. the unemployment rate in the 15-19 age group declined by 1.6 percentage points, at the age of 20-24 years — increased by 0.1 percentage points.
On average, young people aged 15-24 years, the unemployment rate in November 2012. was 14.2%, including the urban population — 12.7% of the rural population — 17.4%. Coefficient of excess levels of youth unemployment on average in the 15-24 age group, compared with an unemployment rate of adults aged 30-49 years was 3.4 times, including the urban population — 3.9 times the rural population — 2 , 5 times.
Duration of job search. Among the unemployed, 35.2% are persons who remain on the lookout for work (unemployment) does not exceed 3 months. One year or more looking for a job 27.7% of the unemployed (long-term unemployment).
Among rural residents to share long-term unemployment was 30.0% among urban — 26.2%.
Work experience. In 30.1% of the unemployed are people who do not have work experience. In November 2012. the share of the unemployed persons, who left her job in connection with the release or reduction of the number of employees, or liquidation of the organization’s own business, was 16.8% and the percentage of people who left her job in connection with the dismissal of their own volition — 24.1% (November 2011. — respectively 18.3% and 23.5%).
Unemployment in federal districts. The lowest unemployment rate corresponding to the ILO criteria, according to the Central Federal District, the highest — in the North Caucasian Federal District.
