Evgeni Plushenko was the seven-time European champion


Russian Evgeni Plushenko won his seventh career title of European Champion in figure skating, winning the championship in Sheffield, UK. In the men’s singles skater scored total score 261.23 points.

Silver medal went to Russian citizen Artur Gachinski, the bronze took the Frenchman Florent Amodio. Third Russian in the men’s figure skating, Sergei Voronov, took tenth place.

In just two days of the championship medal in Sheffield Russian figure skaters and figure skaters took seven out of nine possible medals, including two gold, three silver and two bronze. The second gold Russians — in pairs, where the first place was taken by Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov.

Silver in the form of inherited Vera Bazarova and Yuri Larionov, bronze — Xenia Stolbovoy and Fedor Klimov. In the unofficial team standings Russians a strong lead.
