U.S. Navy campaign to connect to industry programmke creation potential of open architecture avionics for a promising multipurpose helicopter FVL (Future Vertical Lift) and advantages superiority fighter in the air F / A-XX latest generation aviationweek.com reported March 15.
Idea is to develop an open architecture avionics FACE (Future Airborne Capability Environment) by government laboratories under the technical standards modify the software. These modular components should be portable and used on different types of aircraft that will allow to reduce costs by increasing competition in the development of software components.
Consortium FACE, consisting of 50 employees, has released the second version of the technical standards with excessive demands for data exchange between software components to ensure compatibility and portability.
It is reported that since January 2014 the industry will be able to make new software components for integration with «reference architecture» to get a step demonstrations and tests in municipal programs.
First components applets FACE will be bought to upgrade avionics transport aircraft C-130 U.S. Navy produced by Lockheed Martin.
