Fiji will have Russian equipment
Russia is ready to supply Fiji (located in the south-west Pacific) naval equipment, as well as weapons and equipment for ground forces, including peacekeepers, said the director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Alexander Fomin.
On Friday, June 28, Fomin and Fiji Ambassador to the Russian Federation signed an intergovernmental agreement on military-technical cooperation. The document was signed after the talks, Prime Ministers of the two countries — Dmitry Medvedev and Voreke Bainimarama.
"As an island state of Fiji, is in the ocean, it is clear that the naval equipment — is a necessity. Fiji Navy are armed boats are not produced in Russia. We will be offering a large range of categories — small, medium and large.
