Foreign investment in Russia in I half of 2011 grew by 2.9 times in comparison with the same period last year — to $ 87.7 billion, according to Federal State Statistics Service, as of the end of June 2011, the accumulated foreign capital in the Russian economy amounted to $ 315 billion, a 19.9% increase compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.

The largest share in the accumulated foreign capital accounted for investments made on a return basis — 57.8% (end-June 2010 — 55.2%), the share of direct investments was 39.5% (previously 40.6%), portfolio — 2.7% (previously 4.2%).
