June 4, Efremov, Tula region opened a plant for the production of semi-finished poultry meat French company "Cargill". The volume of investment in this production amounted to 40 million U.S. dollars. The plant’s capacity — 18 thousand tons per year. Commissioning of the plant will create 140 new jobs.
During the opening ceremony of the head of the company "Cargill" Natalia Orlova said that the production of the plant for the production of semi-finished poultry meat will be delivered to the restaurant chain "McDonald’s" in Russia. Before the ceremony, the head of the region Vladimir Gruzdev examined sold by "Cargill" investment project "Increasing the amount of wheat processing of raw materials through the expansion of its existing offices." The agreement on its implementation was signed in November 2011. This project involves the investment of the investor in the amount of 3 billion rubles and the creation of an additional approximately 20 high-performance workplaces. Implementation of the project is scheduled for early 2014.

The governor said that "Cargill" successfully works in Tula land for almost 20 years, and over the years the company has invested in the modernization of production of over 450 million dollars.
