Her head was Peter Slot — a renowned expert in the field of supercomputing technology and distributed computing at the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands).
Laboratory activities are focused on the ACL implementation of multidisciplinary research and development in various subject areas for resource-intensive computer modeling and processing huge amounts of data. A key activity of the laboratory involves the use of supercomputing technology to support decision-making in the global critical situations, such as the spread of epidemics and forest fires, floods, criminal or terrorist threats.
