June 1, in the laboratory of Robotics branch Miass SUSU once again receive the guests. Representatives of the customer — the "Mayak": CSC chief Analytical Instrumentation Vladimir Shubin and Chief Designer Anatoly Balev came for the acceptance of a prototype created here to order a special purpose company robot. Demonstration of the new development was successful. Photo source:newsmiass.ru
Special-purpose robots in Miass create more than two decades under the leadership of Professor Igor Voinov, elected in 2010 Miassky head of the county, and the chief of laboratory robotics MF SUSU Boris Morozov. Cooperation with the "Mayak" lasts more than 10 years, since the development Miasskoe scientists customer believes to be reliable, high-tech and repeatedly tested.
The new robot is designed as one of the elements of an innovative technology for processing spent nuclear fuel. As explained by the press V. Shubin, this technology is to replace the old, established 35 years ago. During the processing of nuclear fuel for the control necessary to conduct sophisticated analysis of samples which pass through a number of experimental boxes. In the existing technology today this process involved people is undesirable. It is not perfect, and often there is an emergency situation. Created in SUSU robot must provide gentle transportation of the samples in a fragile glass containers for all laboratory boxes to stay in the right place at the nearest millimeter, according to the developed program. In the future, the entire process for conducting the laboratory testing should be automated, robots will perform for the person with all the necessary work. It is planned that by 2014, this task will be realized.
In the meantime, dull-looking "truck", or "train" as is jokingly called his creation the creators filled, however, the high-tech "product" of human intelligence, has successfully demonstrated the ability to perform the tasks assigned to it — on command from the computer slowly gathering pace , slipping on the miniature rails and clear, gently stopped at a given point. Instead of answering the question, which can carry a load of robot B. Morozov, to the delight of the correspondents, rolled on it myself.
