In Nizhny Novgorod opened the first branch of gynecological oncology

In Nizhny Novgorod on the basis of the Regional Oncology Center opened the first office in the region of gynecological oncology.

— Ward is designed for 30 people and will accept women with cancer of the reproductive system with all the Nizhny Novgorod region — said the chief doctor of the Nizhny Novgorod regional oncologic dispensary Vitaly Terekhov. — Malignant tumors of the reproductive system are the most common causes of death among women all over the world, including Russia. In the Nizhny Novgorod region annually detected about 2,800 cases of malignant tumors, of which 1,500 have on breast cancer, a thousand — at different locations of uterine cancer, 300 cases — for ovarian cancer.

 

Opening of gynecological oncology department was part of the regional conference "Actual problems of women’s reproductive health," which was attended by oncologists from around the PFD. Doctors are unanimous in their opinion that the main front in the struggle with cancer — is an early diagnosis. Unfortunately, women still do not often go to the doctor for scheduled check that everything was OK with them the body is much more likely to go see a doctor is when something starts to seriously worry. Nizhny Novgorod oncologists urge all women in the region to undergo regular examinations by gynecologists and breast team in polyclinics.

— Identifying patients at risk of developing cancer by a hereditary line and its early detection can cure almost all patients suffering from some form of hereditary tumors of the reproductive system, — said a member of the International Society of Gynecological Oncology, Professor Cyril Jordania. — Biology of cancer is not yet fully revealed its secrets. Therefore, only early detection, operating at the state level, screening and prevention programs will allow to reduce morbidity and mortality from the disease.
