In Novosibirsk, a monument to Alexander III

Monument to Alexander III installed in the park "Urban beginning," which is located on the waterfront of the Ob. Choosing a location is due to the fact that there is an old railway bridge span, which was part of the Trans-Siberian Railway. As we know, by the decree of Alexander III in 1891 began construction of Trans-Siberian Railway — the largest railway in the world, which gave the development of the Siberian regions, including Novosibirsk.

The author of the monument — People’s Artist of Russia Salavat Shcherbakov. The figure of the emperor was cast in the Moscow studio.

— This year is dedicated to Russian history, celebrating the 1150th anniversary of Russian statehood. It is symbolic that this year we are opening the monument to the Russian Emperor, whose name is connected with the history of our city — said the mayor of Novosibirsk Vladimir Gorodetsky.
