500 kV Amur, Far East and Komsomolskaya transformer capacity of 1002 MVA each involved in the transit of electricity from sources of the Amur region near Khabarovsk and Primorye Territory.
In 2012, experts of the branch of JSC "UES FGC" — Trunk Power Grids (MEA) of the East — completed the program replacement of air switches for gas-insulated switchgear at 500 kV — Amur, Komsomolskaya and Far East. As a result of increased reliability of electricity supply to consumers of the Amur Region, Khabarovsk and Primorye territories. Within two years, the reconstruction of substations in operation for over 25 years, gradually replacing the nine air switches that are used to enable and disable the load current in normal and emergency conditions. In place of air switches 500 kV gas-insulated switchgear came modern machines. The new devices are more compact, reliable and easy to maintain and have a longer turnaround time and service life. According to the head of 500 kV Far Alexey Tarasov, with the transition to gas-insulated switches to operate the equipment power facility has become much easier and safer.
