Group of Companies "New Technologies" completed a comprehensive reconstruction of the substation 220 kV "R-4" in Rostov-on-Don, which began in April 2009.
The works were completed on August 24. Experts of the company have made a complete re-equipment and reconstruction of substations — all obsolete equipment has been successfully replaced. Civil engineers "New Technology" works on installation of high voltage XLPE cable voltage of 110-220 kV «Prysmian Cables and Systems», characterized high adaptability and least labor-intensive to install. Padded 7 km of cable, installation carried out 72 couplings.
Among the other works at the substation completed replacement of power transformers of 25 MVA power transformers TDTN-25000/110/10/6 U1 capacity of 25 MVA, as well as a 3-phase motor transformers of 80 MVA autotransformer type ATDTSTN-250000/220/110-U1 250 MVA, the replacement of existing equipment of 220 kV switchgear with integrated GIS, construction of new buildings: a 220 kV gas-insulated switchgear, substation control 220 kV outdoor switchgear of 6-10 kV and others to build a new 110 kV switchyard.
A distinctive feature of this project was the implementation of an integrated switchgear gas-insulated switchgear type HSG-305A (manufactured by HYOSUNG, Republic of Korea). Application of 220 kV gas-insulated switchgear has a number of advantages, among which, in particular: compactness, reliability and versatility. 220 kV gas-insulated switchgear contains all the equipment necessary for the operation of high-voltage switchgear. Running GIS, completed in May 2012.
For the record: This substation is located in the city of Rostov-on-Don, Rostov region and is located on the territory of Rostov backbone Electrotechnical networks. 220kV substation "P-4" was put into operation in 1961. Among the major industrial consumers substation:

- JSC "Aksaykardandetal" enterprise manufacturing drive shafts for agricultural machinery.
Work on the reconstruction and re-produced on the existing substations without interruption of power supply.
