Volumes of production of steel pipes in Russia in January-June 2011 compared with the same period in 2010 increased by 21.1% to 5.2 million tonnes. This is according to Rosstat.
At the end of June this year compared with June of last year, production of steel pipes in Russia increased by 23.7%, as compared with the previous month — 3%.
In turn, the production of ferrous metals in the country since the beginning of the year increased by 4.6% to 29.4 million tonnes. In June of this year compared with the same month last year, output of rolled products in Russia increased by 8.9%, as compared to May — 1.6%.
Recall that in January-May this year the production of rolled steel in Russia grew by 3.7% to 24.2 million tonnes and steel pipes — by 20.7% to 4.278 million tons.
First chapter of "Severstal" Alexey Mordashov expressed the opinion that the Russian steel market in 2011 will grow by 8%.
