In Tatarstan, held for the first time a hybrid operation to prevent an aneurysm of the aortic arch

For the first time in Tatarstan (and for the fifth time in Russian) team of vascular surgeons and rentgenhirurgov together with the department of functional diagnostics number 2 ICDC successfully implemented a hybrid operation with a large post-traumatic false aneurysm of the aortic arch.

In 1989, the patient was in a car accident and was seriously injured chest, fractured left femur. Gradually, he developed chest pain, shortness of breath when walking, hoarseness. The man has repeatedly appealed for help to therapists who installed different diagnoses, and current treatment was ineffective. Only in December 2011 at the National Oncology Center for a CT scan had revealed a saccular aneurysm of the thoracic aorta.

In March 2012, he was re-examined in the department of cardiac surgery ICDC, which revealed a large post-traumatic false aneurysm of the aortic arch meshkovidaya (sharp protrusion of the posterior wall of the aorta with a high risk of rupture and bleeding) with compression of the trachea and esophagus. From open surgery has been decided to abstain because of the high risk of interference. And then the doctors decided to carry out a hybrid operation that combines an open and endovascular surgery and is to provide the conditions for the deployment of the stent-graft into the lumen of the aortic arch with a "shutdown" of the aneurysm from the circulation. If you just set the prosthesis in the aortic lumen, the mouth of the overlap of the arteries that feed the brain and upper extremities.

Hybrid operation is performed under general anesthesia. Now the patient’s condition is satisfactory, it feels good.
