In the Murmansk region is realized exploration of the apatite-nepheline ores.

In the Murmansk region implemented an ambitious and extremely important for the Russian industry for the production of fertilizer project — the development of apatite-nepheline ores "Deer Creek". The main goal — to create a new source of raw materials to meet the shortfall of phosphate raw materials in Russia. «North-Western Phosphorous Company" is implementing the project "Deer Creek" from scratch.


Total investment in the project are U.S. $ 1 billion. Disbursed investment for the period from 2006 to September 30, 2011 amounted to U.S. $ 300 million.

In 2008, the NWPC has received a construction permit and started construction of mine infrastructure.
In December 2008, NWPC launched the second phase of the project — construction of the mine (GOK) with a capacity of 1 million tons of apatite concentrate. During this stage erected manufacturing and administrative facilities under construction pit, transport infrastructure is created, acquired the necessary equipment, appliances and much more.
Start the first stage GOK "Deer creek" in the field of apatite-nepheline ore deposits in the Murmansk region is planned for 2012.


November 4, 2011 will go down in the history of JSC "North-Western Phosphorous Company" as the beginning of open pit mining at the deposit "Deer Creek".
